Fossils of Barking
In collaboration with MUF architects I did a research in Barking, east London. At the time (2008) a deprived area, where generation was going on.
Dressed as my alter ego, the mould maker, equipped with a bag full of plasticine, plaster and water. I went to Barking and gathered 3d elements from the street with plasticine. I collected for example: facade pieces, lamppost decorations, logos, etc. With the local museum I retrieved the stories behind the prints I've taken, which introduced me to the rich history of Barking.

To bring these stories to the inhabitants of Barking, the prints where used to decorate daily products like a set of plates for a local restaurant, or a chair for the local park all made with the collected prints. Also I collected an alfabeth in Barking which I turned into the graphic design of the project.
The prints together formed an archive of thirty-one pieces, which can be used in the future for other Barking souvenirs.
